Characteristic of Critical Thinking
There are four characteristics of critical thinking.
1. Active Listening
2. Curiosity
3. Self Discipline
4. Humility
1. Active Listening
Active listening is a technique for listening to and responding to another person that enhances comprehension between the two parties. Effective communicators are active listers. It is significant because it enables us to recognize and value the opinions and feelings of others.
2. Curiosity
Curiosity is a quality related to inquisitive thinking such as exploration, investigation, and learning, evidenced by observation in humans and animals. Curiosity is heavily associated with all aspects of human development, which derives from the process of learning and the desire to acquire knowledge and skill.
3. Self Discipline
As a critical thinker, do not jump to conclusions or actions. First, take time and acquire information and know the fact, use your own reasoning skills, and evaluate and reflect. Likewise, we have to be self-disciplined.
4. Humility
This is the opposite of arrogance, the quality or state of being humble.
Group Activity
Discuss the reasons for the problems that are having in the Sri Lanka Cricket team and come up with solutions.
- Problems
1. Lack of discipline.
2. Lack of practice.
3. Bad influence of social media affects the mental health of the players.
4. Difficulties in finding new unique talented players. (Lack of experienced players after the retirement of the legends.)
5. Corruptions in cricket board.
6. The actions that should take when players are injured are not taken correctly.
- Solutions
1. Implement tough rules and take disciplinary actions.
2. Need to use the latest technologies and techniques that other countries are using.
3. Should introduce improved concepts like LPL to the rural areas.
4. Take action to improve cricket at the school level.
5. Minimize the political influence in selecting the cricket board and team, and also minimize the favoritism of the cricket board and team towards certain players.
